I am a 28 year-old american, and the next time I leave Thailand for five days in Vietnam, I will have stayed in Thailand for a total of 80 days covering three entries. I've done two border runs, but each time i hadnt used the entire 30 days. I have had a hard time getting a consistent answer as to whether the "90 days over a period of 180 days" is a record of the time i have actually been in the country, or just three 30-day visas. This is important for me because I have a flight back to Thailand, and another flight home a couple days later. If I'm limited to only three entries in 180 days and they stick to that rule, I cant go home!! Thanks for any help.

1. You could obtain a visa while you are in Vietnam and not have to worry about it, and with a total of 80 days or more I would do that just to be sure.

2. The time is not more than 90 days in a six month period. The number of entries is not limited.
