I don’t suspect this has happened to anyone before, I lost my passport somewhere between leaving the embassy and getting to our hotel (yesterday 25th sept)

I get everything back from the government complex in 2 days.

We intend to marry in Udon Thani start of October, my main question is does the amphur need to see my original passport, besides the certified copy?

I realise I can’t get a flight there, we’ll have to get a train.

I'm seeing your post only now. How did it go for you?

Emergency passport, aka emergency travel document, is what I would recommended. Most embassies can issue it within 34 hours.

Yes, and a real embassy issue such documents in 30 minutes.
