Is Thailand Value for money
That's true in any cheap country. You are not being invited in just to be nice or for magazine photo's and giving the country what it wants is not optional. Get real. -

Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
As discussed earlier in the thread, they cannot garnish your State Pension to reclaim what's owed but they can use any other benefits you may have (E.g. I would expect a lot of Pensioners relying on State Pension alone would also receive Pension Credits which they can reduce to pay back the debt). -

But it's always claimed they cannot claim over payment back, but this is proof they do, even if a rare event and only if grassed up or letters to your UK address are returned. I wonder what will happen when people claiming they live in the UK renew their passports showing they live here full time? Things are getting more connected up as time goes on. -

Sinking scandal: Pattaya’s new footpaths crumbling already
I never understand why Thais like interlocking pavers for sidewalks (pavements). They look beautiful then a cement truck comes along fully loaded and wants to park to go in the 7/11, so drives over the kerb and ruins all the overlocking pavers. So that instead of a nice smooth pavement, you have a trap to trip over and smash your head on the pavement. -

Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
From what I understand, if you stay in the Philippines for more than 180 days, (with bank account, visa etc to demonstrate your residence in the country), then you can move back to Thailand after 180 days and you will continue to receive that increased pension. Rinse and repeat every 180 days - but I imagine most cannot flit between Thailand and the Philippines every 180 days.... -

Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
Many people go on a big boast all around them about how they are moving overseas. The others get dobbed in by family members and friends or former wives. On the other hand I don't even tell my Brit kids where I live, certainly not my bank, GP, DWP, or any other government department. As far as they know I live in the UK. Best not to let anyone know your name, address or business.- 1

How will this bill demand Sanctuary Cities cooperate with the ruling if passed?
Across New York, recently arrived migrants are flooding the criminal justice system — at far higher rates than public officials have acknowledged. Police sources shared with The Post a staggering estimate that as many as 75% of the people they’ve been arresting in Midtown Manhattan in recent months for crimes like assault, robbery and domestic violence are migrants. In parts of Queens, the figure is more than 60%, sources there estimate. On any given day, Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law. https://nypost.com/2024/09/02/us-news/migrants-flooding-nycs-justice-system-making-up-75-of-arrests-in-midtown-as-pathetic-sanctuary-city-laws-handcuff-cops/ -
