Now that we are older: Does Eric Burdon resonate with us even more forcefully?

Recommended Posts

Dear Older Ones:

Now that we are older, does Eric Burdon resonate with most of us even more forcefully than ever before?

And, I say:  Ave Eric, moriture te salutant (Hail, Eric, those who are about to die salute you!)

Seems to me that Eric presently speaks to us with even more authority, now that we are older.

Would you not say so?

If not...Then....Why not?

Regards,

Gamma

NOTE:  She was brown.  And, i was pretty green....(directly quoting Eric)

One should always try to go further, when one is young.

And, if a physicist, then never stop going further, even when old.

If not a physicist, then one's bones just get worn down....

So then, might as well stop.

Did Einstein actually work at his desk in Princeton until his dying day?

He tried to go further, some say, every day of his life.

Ken Kesey was no Einstein...

IMHO

Although, I am sure Ken thought he was.

Yet, he never got half as far as Einstein.

Instead...turns out.....

Kesey was just another NUTCASE.....

He actually never did get that far.....

Except....

In his own mind.

Boomers need to chill.

Your gen were sold a lot of lies.  Possibly everything you think you 'know'.

Merry Pranksters & Leary were CIA.

Einstein was a fraud / fake too.

Stephen Hawking also.

However, trying to explain this (or anything else for that matter)  to a boomer is p***ing in the wind.

If you're genuinely smart and can do the work the penny will drop.

If not, no problem, soon all dead anyway.

Take your mind out of the gutter and DYOR

The last I heard, Eric lives someplace around the town of Ojai, CA with his (much younger) wife.....He dabbles about, occasionally singing  publicly.....

He seems comfortable & happy in his semi active twilight years.....

Many of us fall into the same mold, just a few continents apart.....

In the interview, he seems to be happy, enjoying his life while savoring a nice vintage wine....

Kudos.....

Note:

I'm not sure how the accompanying pic got separated.....

wow that takes me back--I was 19 in Borstal & the highlight of the week--was the top 10 that they played on the radio,, that was until , Burden's hit "We gotta get out of this place" all the kids started to sing along, so our highlight of the week was stopped until it dropped out of the charts.........:omfg:

Surprisingly, I happened to listen to this song, about TEN more times, since I posted this Topic, and....

IMHO, I do believe that this song is one of his best.

Such deep meaning...meaning.....

a. The rooms were so much colder then.

b. The times were very hard, when I was young.

c. I smoked my first cigarette at TEN.......

YEAH

This song DOES resonate....

BIG TIME...

As Trump might say....

BUT, I guess you would have had to actually BE THERE....

To adequately appreciate what I am saying...

NOW.

Eric is just SO DEEP.

Therefore...

Any way to REVOKE the Nobel for Dylan?

And give Dylan's Nobel to Eric, instead.

Just ONE of Eric is FAR GREATER than TWO Dylans, any old day.

NOTE4: Compared to Eric, Dylan is just such a Sad Joke, the joke of a clown, in fact.

Please feel free to think of this Topic as the antithesis of a "Thought Piece".

Eric Burdon is everybody's hero, though.

Are you drunk or high?

Burdon is not everybody's hero- certainly not mine.
