The family of Jindaporn Rodboon, a 37-year-old woman with a mental health condition who went missing a week ago, is anxiously awaiting confirmation regarding a body recently found in a mangrove forest in Satun. Despite holding out hope, Jindaporn’s mother expressed mixed emotions, fearing it may be her daughter.

Jindaporn, a resident of Satun’s Khlong Khut subdistrict, was last seen on October 19 when she left home without her phone. Witnesses, including locals and monks, reported seeing her near a temple in a secluded area the previous evening, giving the family hope that she may still be alive. However, further clues of the whereabouts were elusive, prompting an extensive search effort led by Satun Police.

On October 25, after several days of coordinated searching, Police Colonel Seksit Prakot, along with multiple police and search teams, expanded the search radius to five kilometres around the forested area. They issued a call for information from local communities, advising anyone with potential leads to contact emergency services immediately.

That same day, a local resident, Dan Hitdee, reported discovering an unidentified body while harvesting palm leaves in Kuan Khan. The remains, wearing black sweatpants, had facial features too deteriorated for clear identification. Initial observations suggested a resemblance to the missing woman, but further examination is required.

Jindaporn’s family arrived on-site, filled with a mix of dread and hope. Her mother, while trying to remain optimistic, admitted the body’s clothing and build closely matched her daughter’s description. Authorities have requested a forensic examination to confirm the identity.
