Thailand pumps the brakes on private sector traffic perks
I've tried the airport way, takes ages to find a parking spot in short term parking, then 250 baht for the privilege. I just looked at the Samrong option, driving time plus train journey actually adds time to my journey even in traffic. 20 baht is neither here or there but a 50 baht congestion charge over a 70 baht parking fee...... Looks like i will be sticking to the car for the near future. Appreciate the tips though, never really looked at it this closely. -

Analysts Predict Baht Decline if Trump Wins US Presidency
I could have had over 37 at the beginning of the year, but decided to hold off all remittances until we find out where taxes here in Thailand go for expats. Maybe the end of 2025 or sometime in 2026. Been here for 8 years now, usually use Wise, for now I have some cash sitting in their Interest bearing account, for now it's sitting there waiting and growing. -

High-Riding/High-Stepping Women: What’s with all the kicking going on around here?
I agree with you, completely. In addition, the reason I found the reported kicking incident so very shocking is due to the fact that I have always found Thai women, almost invariably, to be nothing short of polite and ladylike. What a shocker....let me tell you!!!! I think I may even have suffered a bit of PTSD from just being a witness. Suffice to say, that this memory is still burned in my mind, after so many years have elapsed. -

Yet you comment so you must have a chip on your shoulder about not living here. I do not live in New York or London but I do not make a special out-of-the-blue statement about it. Although I am going to London for a month next week. To the people who do not like Phuket, yes please stay away as we have enough winging ex-pats already (I avoid them like the plague). I laugh sometimes when I am in other areas for a visit, boring villages for example, some ex-pats tell me they do not live in Phuket for whatever reason and then they get on their twenty-year-old Honda Dream bike and ride off, I laugh and think, the real reason is you can not afford to live in here. -
