I'm living in Thailand now, but I'm moving back to the USA in mid-November. I'm looking for short term health/travel insurance for my 1st month there.

All the travel insurance that I've looked at doesn't cover US citizens while in the US.

I'm intending on signing up for insurance through the ACA after I'm in the US, but that would still leave me uncovered for several weeks.

Can any expat US citizens tell me where they bought reliable, short term health/travel insurance during trips home to the US?

I've looked at old posts both here and on Reddit, but I haven't found a reliable answer.

When me and my wife moved back to the US, before we had work place we enrolled in an ACA plan.

It was day one and since we hadn't got a job the tax credits paid for it.

Now I wouldn't have liked to get really sick cos deductibles and co-insurance would have been terrible.

But I could go to the doc for $30 and get a prescription for $15.

Got us both through until we both got jobs

My wife works for DoD. Her health insurance is socialism on steroids!
