In the early hours of October 29, the Pitakkarn Rescue Foundation received reports of a serious crash near the Chukdon curve in Mueang District, Kanchanaburi. The incident involved a pickup truck that the driver had lost control of, and then collided with a roadside residence, resulting in casualties.

The incident occurred at approximately 03.40 and upon arrival, rescue volunteers and officials found one injured individual, a male, who was quickly transported to Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital for medical attention. Tragically, three other occupants were found deceased and trapped within the vehicle. The occupants of the house who were asleep at the time were unhurt.

Rescue personnel used hydraulic equipment to carefully remove their bodies, which were then taken to Phaholpolpayuhasena Hospital for autopsies and to await family notification..

The police investigation is ongoing, with speed considered a major factor, but they are also waiting hospital results to see if alcohol or drugs were involved.

Driving at excessive speed is a killer in Thailand so I noticed . Drivers had no notion of road safety or self preservation as well as situational awareness. You read of accidents by pickup trucks on wet roads often and I don’t think their trucks are equipped with good brake system like Brembo brakes or ABS . I travelled quite a bit in vietnam and their road speed limit of 60 Kms is a life saver especially when you see vehicles comply with the law. Thailand ? It is like a wild Wild West of road traffic here. No change in driving habits today, and no change tomorrow too. There is no inclination of discipline here.
