Change Bank for social security direct deposit
From the Manila SSA Office website. It may by around two weeks before they respond....and they "might" ask for additional info and/or a signed direct deposit form if they want your John Hancock on a form....you'll just have to wait and see. And I expect even if they took action on your email already that it wouldn't be until the 3 Feb 2025 payment that it would take effect. https://ph.usembassy.gov/services/social-security/faq/ -

Yes. I understand what the intention of the law was and that it was aimed at Thais. I also understand that the legislative wheels turn slowly here….but in reality, how hard would it be to just come out and exclude foreigners who are on Non-O visa extensions based on retirement? I would prefer to stay, but if treated like a tax donkey while they drag their feet (and kept in a perpetual state of uncertainty and the accompanying stress)….I voted with my wallet and bailed. Of course….nothing is ever simple here. -

You understand that as soon Thailand sees you as their tax resident, and they request CRS information, this will all be visible just as easy right? It doesn't really changes much to the reality if they actually start enforcing it. Best would be some offshore business with a bank card and then do cash withdrawals (outside Thailand) which you fly back in from short holidays. -

If you feel happy with it then enjoy your life. You will always find some companions who believe the same. However, science has to do with facts and validated reproducible results, not with belief. -

There is no official retirement visa option but there are agents who get the 90 day visas renewed without having to leave the country. All completely legit from what I understand. This can be done over and over and over ad infinitum as far as I know as my brother has been doing it for close to 15 years now. Longer “business” visas are also available but I’m not sure what that entails. -

Gym Training - how often?
How often you hit the gym depends on your goals and your commitment time. If you aim for general fitness and staying active, 3-4 days a week is a solid choice. Many folks go 4-6 times weekly to build muscle or do serious strength training, splitting different muscle groups across days.Even 2-3 days is great if you're starting. It's about consistency more than anything. Listen to your body, though. Overtraining can do more harm than good, so rest is as vital as the workout.Also, if you're thinking about boosting performance or recovery, I’ve seen discussions on steroidemeister that might be helpful. -

Closing that tax loop hole was a sensible move that was aimed at middle and upper class Thais who had been evading taxes, foreigners were just collateral damage. It will take a couple of years I would imagine, for the global tax bill to be tabled, debated, voted upon, approved and implemented, it wont be a quick process.- 1
