In a coordinated operation, Chanthaburi Border Patrol Police (Units 114 and 115), the Royal Thai Navy’s Marine Corps Task Force 2, and local officials from Pong Nam Ron District successfully intercepted a large shipment of illegal goods smuggled across the Thai-Cambodian border.

Following intelligence gathered through collaboration with local leaders, residents of Bueng Chanang Lang Village, and informants from Kammreang District in Cambodia’s Battambang Province, authorities received reports of untaxed cigarettes and alcohol being prepared for transport across the border into Thailand. In response, patrols were intensified along the border area.

At approximately 01:30 on Novemebr 1, a joint patrol discovered around 50-60 large cardboard boxes, wrapped in black plastic and secured with black tape, concealed in a longan orchard near Bueng Chanang Lang Village, located about 500 metres from Border Marker 54. Upon initial inspection, the boxes contained various brands of cigarettes and crates of Sir Edward whiskey.

Pong Nam Ron District Chief Mr. Praphit Yanpanya and officials from the Chanthaburi Excise Department were called to the scene to assist in examining the seized goods. The confiscated items will be subject to further investigation as authorities work to curb cross-border smuggling and enforce customs regulations.
