The incident occurred in the early hours of November 2, on the inbound lane of Phahonyothin Road, kilometre marker 44, near the Kru Day U-turn bridge in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani. A motorcycle carrying two factory workers lost control and crashed into the bridge’s concrete barrier edge, sending both the driver and passenger over the side, resulting in a fall from a height of over five metres onto the road below.

Sadly, one person was confirmed dead on the scene, while the other was critically injured. Both had suffered multiple injuries, including severe head trauma and broken bones.

The incident was reported to Pol. Lt. Col. Waranchai Sookyeng, Deputy Inspector at Khlong Luang Police Station, who promptly coordinated with medical personnel from Thammasat University Hospital and rescue volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation. Emergency responders from the Tha Khlong Municipality also arrived quickly to assist with rescue operations.

Initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle struck the bridge’s barrier at speed, which caused both individuals to be thrown over the edge. Despite the swift response from emergency crews, the second victim succumbed to their injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash by reviewing available CCTV and interviewing witnesses.
