Young Woman Found Dead in Car with Heartbreaking Message to Mother

In a tragic incident on the evening of November 10, police discovered the body of a young woman, identified as Miss Hathainok, 32, in a white Honda City parked on Phaholyothin Road in Pathum Thani’s Khlong Luang district. The woman, who rented the vehicle on November 8, was found with a charcoal stove inside the car, leading authorities to suspect carbon monoxide poisoning.

 

The scene was discovered at 21.00 by Lt. Col. Warut Phoomphakdee, Deputy Inspector of Khlong Luang Police Station, after a report from Lt. Col. Sunthorn Khamhinkong, who noticed a stationary car in a darkened area along the road. Upon closer inspection, officers found Miss Hathainok reclining in the driver’s seat, unresponsive. Inside the car, authorities found a lit charcoal stove reduced to ashes, a handbag, a mobile phone placed on her lap, and other items, including bottled water and firelighter refills.

 

On the mobile phone’s screen, a poignant farewell message addressed to her mother revealed emotional distress as the primary reason behind her decision. In the message, Miss Hathainok expressed feelings of isolation and hurt, describing strained family dynamics and struggles with her mother’s constant criticism. She urged her family not to blame others for her actions, attributing the decision solely to herself. She also left a request for a close friend to care for her grandmother.

 

In her message, she apologised to her mother for causing worry and thanked her for raising her, while conveying a deep sense of regret that she couldn’t continue.

 

Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle had been rented from a company in Nonthaburi, which police are now contacting to gather further information. A witness, Mr. Chukiart, 40, reported seeing the woman the previous evening using her phone inside the car but did not suspect anything unusual.

 

Forensic officers have begun processing the scene, taking fingerprints and documenting evidence. The woman’s body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital for a detailed autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death.
