Georgealbert Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 An incident occurred in Suwannaphum district, Roi Et province, when a group of students skipped class to go swimming. One of the students, a 13-year-old girl, drowned after slipping into a deep section of the pond while wearing her school uniform. The accident took place around 13:00 on November 14. Police Lieutenant Sommai Phetsuriya of Suwannaphum Police Station received a report of a drowning at the Nong Song Hong public pond in Sa Khu subdistrict. Rescue units were immediately dispatched, and a team of divers recovered the girl’s body within 30 minutes, found submerged 2.5 metres underwater, about 7 metres from the bank. Initial investigations revealed that five students, one boy and four girls, had left their school around 11:00 to swim at a pond approximately two Kilometres from their school. Three of the girls entered the water, playing near the shallow edge where the water was only about 70 centimetres deep. As they ventured slightly further, two of the girls stepped into a sudden drop-off they had not seen, plunging them into a deep trench. Only one of the girls was able to be pulled to safety by a friend. Sadly, the other girl, who could not swim, disappeared under the water before help could reach her. Afterward, the surviving students returned to school to inform teachers, who then contacted authorities. The drowned student was identified as Titsaya, a 13 year old student at a local school. Gandtee Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Couldn't swim!? I made a point of teaching my Thai nephews and nieces to swim at an early age. A Degree in anything is useless if you are in deep water and can't swim.

black tabby12345 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Escaping from her classroom. And drowned to death in the pond(with her full uniform on). Skipping her class, but still observing Thai morality; avoiding skin exposure in public. Good, Bad, and Dead...
