Fair point - but the Options to presented were loaded - you failed to give the option.

- I drink and remain within the DUI limit....   and failing to do so loaded the result to suit your DUI ideology that its ok to drive when drunk on 10 beers (just so long as you are careful of course !!)...

Your use of the results to suggest that DUI is in any form acceptable is as stupid as your bigotry.

What would I apologise for ??..  you ???   another Brit drink driving, another Brit making dumb generalisations ?

Just as I don't need to apologise for idiotic Brits who get themselves into trouble, I don't need to apologise for you....

... and while the 'horse' may look high from your perspective, its at ground level for people who are not DUI promoting bigots.

No, but you can apologize for all the insane words you are using. Like bias, bigotry and so on, and placing people that tells you the facts at a lower level than you. You put yourself at a lower level, by acting that way. There is no bias or bigotry, as we deliver the truth. The majority, by far, regarding people coming to Thailand behaving badly are Brits. Something that delivers the fact, that British nationality among people behaving badly are the biggest reason Thais are getting more and more negative towards foreigners.

A rather unhinged rant Gottfrid - the anti-British bigotry that you so frequently displayed in the past has surface again.

I thought you'd learned to keep that broken bias in check...

Disagreeing or agreeing with someone has nothing to do with arrogance - You seem to be of the opinion that because I am capable of stringing a sentence together I am portraying some sort of superiority complex; ergo arrogance - thats down to your own attitudes not my comments.

Going one way that, this and another ???...   erm.. You mean having varied opinions on a varying extent of subject, just like anyone else...    So you don't like an opinion that disagrees with yours - thats ok, thats what this forum us for - debate and discuss opinions.

I disagree with the exaggerated extent of MalcomB's anti-British bias... I have disagreed with the extent of your anti-British bias in the past... I disagree with that same bias you have started to present in this thread.

Yep, I initially misunderstood the statistic you provided.. MalcomB corrected that, which I'm fine with.

And yes, of course I accuse you of making up that 75% statistic.... did you read it elsewhere ?... Post a link then...

You can't because you made it up..... Its not a statistic... its an exaggerated and bias opinion of yours designed to look like a statistic because you are incapable of presenting a balanced argument when clouded by such bias.

You have quoted that whenever there is an issue with a foreigner in Thailand, there is a 75% probability that a Brit caused it...

This is as I understand your quote - there is no basis in fact for this percentage that you have simply picked out of thin air.

Do you also apologies for Thai's who behave badly, or is your apology on behalf of 'farangs' in general ?

Or, do you only choose to apologise for the behaviour of an extreme minority of British who appear in these reports ?

AND... you have the wrong idea.. I'm not trying to protect the idiots - fools who get themselves into trouble are fools, no matter where they are from...   BUT, if I am protecting anyone it is the general reputation of the British who you, MalcolmB wish to slur with sweeping generalisations that are bigoted and flawed.

I have 100's of British Acquaintances here in Thailand, many through sports and socialising... I can't say that I've ever seen one of them behave poorly enough to make the media.... So, of course I will defend the reputation of Brits from bias accusation.

Now: Brits seem to make the media a lot, I've explained why earlier on the the thread.

- Higher number of Brits here / Contagion effect / British centric reporting.

..... and, you may just be right that when 'facts' are secured, more British per 100,000 find themselves on the negative side of publicity here than those form other nations - I wouldn't disagree with such a comment.

But, I disagree with people such as yourself and MalcomB exercising your bias and tarnishing a whole nationality because of what you read on this forum and I do so for one simple reason - the opinion presented is bigoted as it projects from such a tiny minority.

Check the facts yourself. You are just laughable. Big clownery from your side!

Using the stats presented by MalcomB earlier, Out of 432,000 visitors...  431,806 were not arrested...   are you still going to stick to your sweeping bigoted generalisations ?

Anyone with any intelligence would recognise that 'trouble makers' are minute minority - and I'll agree with you that the British Trouble makers are abhorrent characters, but I will not see flawed generalisations thrown and any nationality, race or gender without solid facts - and you do not have solid facts.

Out of the people behaving badly in Thailand and hitting the news because of that, the majority, by far, are British passport holders.

As above are facts, then that has nothing to do with me being anti-British, which I am not. I am just stating the facts, that you have a hard time hearing and reading. That does not make me a bigot.

There it is...   but its still not true - Most of the people behaving poorly in Thailand are actually Thai, but thats is  obvious.

Now, of the foreginers, most of the people who make the news pages of Aseannow for poor behaviour appear to be British, but there is no actual statistic to back that up - nevertheless, I wouldn't disagree with such a statement - but it could be argued that a lot of Chinese and local Migrants reach the media for negative reasons - but you won't notice that on Aseannow - because its more 'Western / English centric', but, if you were to read Thai social media and sources you would identify this.

That leads me onto your final statement which is perhaps the most accurate you've made...  of the Westerners who reach the news of media outlets such as Aseannow, the majority are British - I wouldn't argue with that.

But, the extent of Anti-British rhetoric that you have displayed in the past and reignited today, and that or MalcolmB who has displayed an anti-British rhetoric since he joined the forum 6 months or so ago is highlighted by the silence from both of you when it is another nationality which reaches the headlines, yet you both of you are incredibly fast to condemn the British in general as soon as you read it is a Brit who is the source of a problem - and for such attitudes it is clear both MalcomB and yourself are indeed, prejudice against British to the point of being bigots, even if you are so blind you cannot see it yourself.

What are you doing here ?...  taking Anti-British prejudice and turning it into Anti-Russian prejudice ?

There is an abundance of negative news from nationals of plenty of different countries - no one nationality stands out significantly enough to tarnish the whole -  Its just an extreme minority of complete ayholes from many different countries, and tarnishing any nation with negative generalisations enters the realm of bigotry.

you are mistaken my friend, as to the russians it is not an extreme minority. I have lived with them a lot as well as I lived with the Brits. So your polite remark means nothing. I also follow russian media in Thailand,FB and telegram groups. Every single day, accidents, drunk driving, jumping off the balcony, fighting and drowning.  I can continue, as well as I have many russian friends who live here on long-term visas, so I know what I am talking about. Stop it! Your just avoiding the focus. Thais can not make other foreigners look bad. This is about foreigners in Thailand and specifically westerners. You are just derailing as usual. Other Asians can not make us look bad either. Just another lame try to smooth it over. Didn´t work, and I´ve also posted and explained this in earlier posts, but you must have overlooked that, right?

You have decided its a Majority - you may be mistaken because do not have the full data-set, you do not have any data.

The only data presented in this thread (by MalcomB) is nearly 10 years old.

Your generalisation is based solely on the bias you have developed based on news reports 'only' on this forum - using this forum as a measurement metric s fundamentally flawed.

I can see 'why' you would develop an opinion you have, however you cannot see why your generalised opinion is a result of the prejudice you have developed.

I'm guessing the Brit has a completely different version, involving a massive overreaction by the Thai woman that triggered the people around her. Funny that the Brit is the only one injured. Probably because he wasn't the aggressor in the first place. Maybe just a little annoying.

It has nothing to do with that trouble makers are a minority among British visitors in Thailand. What we are talking about, is that the stand for, by far, the highest percentage among the westernized nationalities showing bad behavior in Thailand.

Again, you tried to steer it in another direction, by comparing how many Brits visit Thailand with how many out of them are arrested or behaving bad. That has no relevance to the majority fact.

Ok, we say like this Richard, You are right, the UK is actually among the top three if you count Russia and China, which I don´t. Because their behavior does not make me look bad. Russians is like in a zone of their own, and China is not Western. But, all that aside. You must feel proud holding on to place number three regarding bad behavior.

But then, that is regarding arrests. Many times, you don´t get arrested for acting like an arse. There is comes, as you then directly moved up to place number one. Please, show some grace. Calm down. You won! 🤣

The confrontation escalated when the intoxicated man allegedly struck Grongkan’s husband with a bottle. In defence, her husband retaliated with a stick, resulting in injuries to the tourist.

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

Looks like his injury is 100% self-inflicted.

Hit other man first a bottle.

Then struck back with the cane.

Heavily drunk and forced into the shop after its business hours.

And resorted to senseless violence and met own consequence.

Perfect example of the case: Act Like An Idiot, Treated like an Idiot.
