The truth is what can be proven .

Evidence are undeniable facts , that cannot be bent , even somebody tries very hard to ...

so nothing to do with my post then just going off on a tangent

The Israeli modus operandi is always the same .

They set themselves a goal , like , for example , free the Gaza strip and the west bank from all palestinians ...

Justifications and excuses can always be found AFTER the facts are established .

I think , what Israel really wants is territorial expansion .

Once the west bank and the Gaza strip are " liberated ' from the palesinians , Israel is a whole ... if you look at the map . it is even understandable ...?

But the means to achieve that goal are inhumane .

" just kill them all , they are all terrorists " is a policy that will bring nothing good for the jews in the long run .

The Israelis do not want ( rightfully ) , the Holocaust to be forgotten , but what they do now , will always be remembered as well ...

There is never justification for mass rape, murder and slaying of innocent civilians

Murder and slaying of innocent civilians is a speciality of the IDF as well ...

They are definitely not the only ones , but they are to full of hate to realize the consequences of their actions .

Shame on them ,

If Hamas disappears forever , it will only be good ... but they brainwashed a lot of normally peaceful palestinians who do not want to have anything to do with killings and war ...

That is the result of hatred ... a vicious circle .

How many thousands of those ordinary peaceful palestinians entered Israel on Oct the 7th and helped in the atrocoties, how many helped bring hostages back and sold them to hamas? Did you notice those peaceful palestinians spitting on the hostages and cheering when Hamas brought them back to Gaza in trucks?

Imagining things yet again then and answering for yourself, what's the point of that? Bit like those facts you talked about earlier but you don't believe anyone.

Who caused the war is not of relevance anymore ...

It would be good to find a way to a lasting peace now , but the continuous bombings make that difficult ...

You're the one that mentioned "normally peaceful Palestinians" I pointed out they are not all peaceful and that some took part in Oct 7th atrocities.

So the terror tack where 1200 innocent people were raped and murders , including women and children who were deliberately murdered and taken hostage , that isn't relevant anymore ?

When will British politicians, of varying political stripes, stop sucking up to Washington?

If they cannot tell the truth, at least they could remain silent instead of turning the truth on its head.

International law applies to all nations.  None are above the law.

If you want "a rules-based order", international law is it.

BS. You know that the UN and the ICC are entities unto themselves and the agenda changes as to the whims of whoever is the elected President of such agencies.

Israel is doing the work that no one else has the guts to do.

The international criminal court has done an investigation before issuing the arrest warrants against Nethanyahu and Gallant .

They had a reason to issue the warrants .

If some do not like that , they do not like justice , but think that they are self entitled to be a superior instance to judge what already has been examined and judged ...

It is a pity the the ICC has not the power to enforce the judgement , all what will happen as a consequence is that Nethanyahu and Gallant are not free to move anywhere they might want to go .

Not enough , but a beginning .

Nigel Biggar, a Cambridge professor takes a different view -

"Had it been sitting in judgement on the prosecution of the war against the massively murderous Nazi empire by Britain and the US, the ICC would have issued arrest warrants for Churchill and Eisenhower. While invading Italy in 1943, the Allies caused old men, women, and children to be torn apart by bombs and shells, exposed to the wintry elements by the destruction of their homes, and starved of food and water. They did this ‘knowingly’, aware of the effects of their unavoidably imprecise bombing and shelling. But they didn’t intend civilian harm and sought to minimise it, as far as war-winning allowed. Nonetheless, their efforts weren’t ‘adequate’ to save tens of thousands from perishing.

The presumptuousness of a court that declares itself devoted to the cause of ‘lasting peace’, its novel and imprudent intrusion of a concept of fundamental human rights into the laws of war, and its neglect of the principle of double effect, all combine to drive a legal interpretation that makes successful war-fighting unlawful, however just its cause. Thereby the ICC undermines its own authority, forcing states intent on military victory to repudiate its jurisdiction."

Johnson criticized what he called Labour’s “acceptance of moral equivalence between Hamas and Israel," accusing the opposition party of equating “terrorists and their victims.”

That's the key point.  The military actions ordered by Netanyahu and Gallant  were in defense of Israel and its citizens; the Hamas attack on Oct. 7 was pure terrorism.  The civilian casualties Gaza suffered were almost entirely the result of Hamas' policy of using Gazans as human shields.  There's zero moral equivalence between the  actions of the state of Israel and a terrorist group sworn to destroy it.

The  Allies  deliberately bombed civilians during WWII; think Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne and many other German cities as well as the U.S. firebombing Tokyo and dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  Hundreds of thousands of women, chikdren and the elderly were killed in these Allied  aerial attacks.  Churchill and Rooseveldt, as well as the heads of the British and U.S. air forces, are regarded as national heros.  The civilian deaths in the strategic bombing of Germany and Japan was seen as a tragic but anavoidable consequence of winning the war.

Eighty years later, Netanyahu has a warrant issued on suspicion of war crimes against Gazans for ordering the same type of areial bombing against Hamas.   Can someone explain why it was not a war crime for the UK  and U.S. to bomb German and Japanese  civilians but is a war crime for Israel to bomb Gazans?

Israel made it's opinion on the ongoing investigations by the ICC very clear . Very early .

In Israel's eyes , the ICC is heavily biased and Karim Khan is an antisemite . ( as so many others who dare to criticize Israel . )

When did the ICC deliver its request to Israel for an investigation of the allegations?

When did Israel respond to the ICC on the charges, and where is that formal response found amongst the ICC declarations in this case?

This is a legal action and there are procedures to follow. Unfortunately, there is also a great deal of political  sloganeering that attaches and one must differentiate between political posturing and the actual legal process.

Looking at their past record, there is a degree of bias within the ICC.  Perhaps from fear or some other reason, they have been most reluctant to prosecute leaders of 'western' nations, and notably the U.S., who have repeatedly violated international law.
