At approximately 01:50, on November 27, Lieutenant Pongpisut Mahasetthavorakul, Deputy Inspector of Sattahip Police Station, received a report of a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a car on Route 332 near the Kasemphon intersection, close to the Khao Chi Chan railway station in Bang Saray, Sattahip District, Chonburi.

Emergency services, including the Klaeng Kaeo Subdistrict Municipality disaster prevention team and the Sawang Rojanathammasathan Rescue Foundation, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of an unidentified man lying in the middle of the road. The deceased suffered multiple severe injuries, including a fractured left leg, a large abdominal wound, and a fractured skull. Blood was pooled on the road. No identification documents were found on his person.

Nearby, officers found a white Toyota Cross with license plate from Rayong, driven by Ms. Yaowaluk Sriwankaew, 35. She remained at the scene to await police.

Ms. Yaowaluk stated that she was driving toward the Kasemphon intersection when the collision occurred. The road was extremely dark due to non-functioning streetlights. A pickup truck was driving ahead of her and suddenly swerved to avoid something. Unable to react in time, she ran over the body lying in the road. Shocked and unable to see clearly, she remained in her car and immediately called rescue services and her relatives.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident. They plan to question Ms. Yaowaluk further and review CCTV footage to determine whether the man was already lying on the road or had been struck by another vehicle beforehand. The victim's body has been sent to Sattahip Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities are also working to identify the deceased and notify his family.

Street lights not working..... an old story.

There's a dark dangerous stretch on Hwy 36 often too..... should not be the case on such a major road.

Exactly my first thoughts; there does not seem to be a Thai word for 'maintenance'.

In best case they'll fix it when they have time.
