bigt3116 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 A mate just died a day ago and it seems that we have to get a letter from the British embassy to release the body for cremation? Has anyone had to do this, or done it before?
Upnotover Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Not done it but the embassy website outlines the process. Seem straightforward enough provided someone can be identified as their next of kin. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/what-to-do-after-a-british-person-dies-in-thailand 1

The embassy staff were very helpful and efficient. Probably need a relative to be involved.
