Pickup Truck Overturns in Ayutthaya, Leaving Nine Injured

A pickup truck overturned in front of Seri Shop on the Phachi-Hin Kong Road in Phachi District, Ayutthaya Province at approximately 17.00 on December 10. The crash left nine individuals injured, with two of them trapped inside the vehicle.

 

Rescue teams from the Phachi Rescue Unit and the Phutthaisawan Foundation promptly arrived at the scene. 

 

The pickup which was carrying many of the passengers sat on the rear bed, when the driver lost control and veered off the road to the left at speed. The driver then tried to correct the direction of travel, causing the truck to roll over and throw the rear passengers out and across the road.

 

The driver and rear seat passenger behind him, were pinned by the crushed dash board and roof. Rescuers used specialised cutting equipment to successfully free them. 

 

All the victims were provided with initial medical care, before all nine injured individuals were transported to Phachi Hospital.

 

Authorities have confirmed that the incident falls under the jurisdiction of Phachi Police Station, which has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Police are reviewing CCTV and interviewing all involved.
