OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's comments likening Kamala Harris's election loss to an attack on women's rights and progress earned him criticism from the country's premiers and from American billionaire Elon Musk on Wednesday.

Speaking on Tuesday night at an event hosted by the Equal Voice Foundation — an organization dedicated to improving gender representation in Canadian politics — Trudeau said there are regressive forces fighting against women's progress.

"It shouldn't be that way. It wasn't supposed to be that way. We were supposed to be on a steady, if difficult sometimes, march towards progress," Trudeau said, adding he is a proud feminist and will always be an ally.

"And yet, just a few weeks ago, the United States voted for a second time to not elect its first woman president. Everywhere, women's rights and women's progress are under attack. Overtly, and subtly."

In a post on X on Wednesday, Musk responded to Trudeau's remarks, saying, "He’s such an insufferable tool. Won't be in power for much longer."

The Musk-man is not wrong. The saving grace is that Trudeau will be chucked out on his ass after the next election, hopefully by spring. And a decent man (Pierre Polievre) can take over and begin the difficult task of restoring Canada to decency and relevance.

I am back in Canada and I can tell you first hand life here sucks. Freedoms and rights ain't what they used to be unless you are a visible minority, an immigrant or an illegal immigrant. 

Trudeau is despised by everyone I ask and I agree. The sooner we see his proud feminist arse head out the door the better.

Most of us Canadians have known this for 8 years.

What is offensive is the embarrassment caused by having Trudeau as Prime Minister, and his lackeys in the New Democratic Party who prop up his government to save him from the righteous wrath of the voters.

I'm not a Musk groupie but if you read the article even Canada's premiers (a gov't position similar in scope to US senators) criticized Trudes for his asinine remarks that Harris lost the election only because she was a woman.

Doesn't matter if he's right or wrong. A man in his position as an advisor to the president elect and in charge of a major government task force shouldn't say things like that.
