webfact Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Strengthening its global standing, Thailand secures another coveted accolade endorsed by leading travel professionals. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is delighted to announce that Thailand has been awarded the “Best Worldwide Destination” at the esteemed Irish Travel Trade Awards (ITTN Awards) 2024, further cementing its reputation on the global tourism stage. The ceremony, hosted by Irish Travel Trade News (ITTN), took place on 29 November 2024 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington in Dublin, Ireland. Thailand’s remarkable achievements in the Destinations & Airports category highlight its ongoing dedication to service excellence, sustainable practices, and cultural authenticity. Voted for by over 5,000 travel agents, the Irish Travel Trade Awards celebrate exceptional standards across seven core categories—Destinations & Airports, Airlines, Tour Operators, Transport, Accommodation & Insurance, Ferry, River & Expedition Cruising, Ocean Cruising, and Sustainability & Culture. Multiple sub-awards within each category underscore the depth and prestige of this annual event. This latest honour adds to Thailand’s ever-expanding portfolio of travel and tourism accolades, reinforcing its status as a premier global destination known for its rich heritage, warm hospitality, and vibrant tourism ecosystem. Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said “We are deeply honoured and proud that Thailand has been named ‘Best Worldwide Destination’ at the ITTN Awards 2024. This recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to promoting sustainable tourism, while reaffirming the global esteem that Thailand’s tourism industry continues to earn. We extend our sincere gratitude to all involved—our business partners, service providers, and travellers—whose enduring support has made this achievement possible.” This award reflects Thailand’s growing appeal among Irish visitors. From 1 January to 30 November, this year, over 70,000 Irish travellers visited the Kingdom, underscoring the strong cultural and travel ties between the two nations. As TAT continues to refine and enhance visitor experiences, this latest award stands as a powerful endorsement of Thailand’s outstanding qualities as a global travel hub. By embracing innovation, sustainability, and a steadfast commitment to cultural integrity, Thailand remains perfectly positioned to welcome travellers with experiences that are both unforgettable and enduring.
