Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra of Thailand has publicly celebrated her administration's achievements within their first 90 days and laid out a comprehensive vision titled "2025 A Real Opportunity for Thailand." Addressing pressing environmental and infrastructure issues takes precedence, with water management highlighted as a critical area. Through collaborations with private sectors, significant canal projects are underway to better manage floods and droughts.

Addressing pollution, her government has set ambitious targets to reduce PM 2.5 levels by enforcing stricter anti-burning laws, negotiating to reduce cross-border haze, and introducing a new Clean Air Act. Efforts to dismantle monopolies in agriculture and energy aim to bolster citizens' livelihoods by enabling direct exports for farmers and reducing energy costs. An affordable 20-baht rail mass transit is proposed to enhance public transport in Bangkok.

The government also plans significant debt relief measures, including loan moratoriums and debt forgiveness for smaller amounts, alongside a five-billion-baht SME support fund. Digital advancements are crucial to Paetongtarn's agenda, with initiatives like the Digital Wallet Scheme aiding over four million seniors and expanding to broader demographics soon.

In education, the focus is on programs like the "One District, One Scholarship" and "One District, One Summer Camp," aiming to uplift students through scholarships and language training funded by lottery revenues. Additionally, district schools are set for upgrades with a focus on advanced technology and language education. Grassroots empowerment continues under the SML Program and the "Homes for Thais" policy hopes to make homeownership more accessible with affordable housing options.

Paetongtarn's address passionately reiterated her mission: "Our mission is to empower citizens, reduce centralized power, and build a nation where everyone has the opportunity to prosper with dignity." Her future-forward policies have set the stage for a hopeful and transformative journey towards 2025.

Thai PM Celebrates 90-Day Milestone

I celebrate every 90 days, too, at immigration. 😉

With all those grandiose schemes, dismantling monopolies and whatnot (tackle the breweries first), probably best to tread carefully. It's been a whopping 10y since Thailand enjoyed a coup.
