Wrong target for apology. Rather, apology is owed, technically, morally--irrelevant to a leftist--to the forum for lying and trying to spread misinformation.

 

But you may apologize to Trump whether you caused him distress or not. If someone has been lying about you, you might wish they stopped doing so, apologize to you, and apologize to those they had lied to--even if the liar caused you no distress.

 

Your posts do bring up an interesting health issue, however: that listening to fake news seems to damage one's hearing, so that even when an original recording is played, you can only hear what fake news had told you it says. Then you're unable to believe anyone who informs you, correctly, that it doesn't say what you imagine you're hearing.
