December 17, 20241 yr Some kids when they watched McGruff the Crime Dog, they said 'hey, that's a good racket' 😳 In Mexico, they call it the 'Mordita" or "little bite". Same thing here. If any of the prostitutes you guys frequent nickname is "Mosquito", get ready for a bite. 😋

Progress in these areas is difficult even for those with the best intentions. Remember he's going after a well entrenched status quo. As far as "land of the lawless", ever hear of a place called The United States? Have you not been around too long?

December 18, 20241 yr Everyone of them comes in and says exactly the same thing his predecessors have said. And what happens, nothing changes it all continues in sadly a laughable example of how not to police because of the usual factors.

What can be achieved in one year by a high rank expecting his pension? The promotions have little to do with achievements just seniority.

The police are paid a pittance and pulled from the lower ranks of society where there is apparently a commonly held belief that corruption is an acceptable way to get ahead in life. Fixing the Thai police would probably require some sort of mandatory anti-corruption campaign starting in the very early years of schooling. Unless the common man and society believes corruption is wrong and they feel shame about it nothing will change in my opinion. I believe a correct moral compass exists in us all, it's an individuals choice to follow it, or not.
December 19, 20241 yr I am interested in how narcotics suppression works. Do you just try to kill or capture the people who make and distribute drugs (in every increasing numbers), or do you find out why people take drugs in the first place? We know truck drivers take them to stay awake on long shifts that don't allow them rest. No different from the allied soldiers in World War Two who were issued benzies to stay awake longer. It would end with restriction on how many hours you are allowed to drive. Poor people take drugs because their lives are so dead-end that they have no hope. Perhaps the government could do some research into the reasons people take drugs and attack the problem at source.
