A traffic collision occurred on December 17 at approximately 08:30 on Highway 214 near the U-turn in front of Kab Choeng Hospital, Tambon Kab Choeng, Amphoe Kab Choeng, Surin Province.

The crash involved a motorcycle, reportedly traveling against traffic, and an Isuzu SUV. The impact resulted in the deaths of two individuals at Kab Choeng Hospital shortly after the crash.

The victims were identified as:

A 71-year-old Thai man, the motorcycle rider, resident of 37, Moo 10, Tambon Kab Choeng, who was pronounced dead at 08:54, at Kabcheing Hospital

A 66-year-old Thai woman, the motorcycle passenger, resident of 118, Tambon Kab Choeng, who succumbed to her injuries at 08:55, at the same hospital.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the factors that led to the motorcycle traveling in the wrong direction. The owner of the SUV, who was not named, remained at the scene to answer questions from police.

The incident has prompted local officials to renew calls for motorists to strictly follow traffic regulations, particularly on busy highways, to prevent similar tragedies.

You have been here long enough to know that it was your fault.

Rule 1: Expect the unexpected

Rule 2: never try and cross the Sukhumvit Road unless via footbridge.

71 and still doing this?  🤦‍♂️The truck may been doing some high speed passing too or got pincered by another vehicle shining into their lane.

You can never overstate how to useless and culpable the police are too. Any person from a country with sane driving could point what's wrong all days but even after decades of driving the Thai police can't even begin to start tackling the problem.
