Drunken drama: Russian hospitalised after Bangla brawl
We don't know what force the drunk big burly Russian started to use, why should the Thai security staff risk injury by using minimum force, their country, their rules so they made sure he was put down quickly, that's my take on it, he refused to leave when asked so now he's in hospital. hopefully with a big hospital bill at the end. Maybe Ukraine seems like a good option now. -

Police Bust 14 Scrap Shops in Bangkok for Severe Pollution Issues
File photo for reference only Police launched Operation STOP POLLUTION THE SERIES 3, targeting scrap shops on On Nut's waste alley in Bangkok for causing pollution with foul odors. Acting on complaints from locals in Phra Khanong, they addressed improper waste management and air pollution concerns. Led by the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division (NREC), officers arrested 10 shop owners for running health-hazardous businesses without permission. These actions violate the Public Health Act and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration regulations as the shops accumulated dangerous waste. Residents had complained about the pervasive stench and health risks from unsightly waste that attracted insects. Waste had also contaminated local waterways with bacteria and toxic substances, according to senior NREC officer Arune. The operation covered 20 locations, revealing extensive roadside rubbish. Of the 20 businesses inspected, 14 operated without licenses, five had permits, and one was shut during the raid, reported KhaoSod. Improper waste storage led to foul odors and attracted pests. Arrested shop owners confessed to buying, storing, and selling waste without proper management or licenses. They now face legal proceedings by the NREC. -- 2024-12-20 -

Who Is Controlling the Budget Bill? Trump, Johnson, or Musk?
Trump ran to stay out of jail. His various fines and legal antics have rather exhausted his funds. His assets are leveraged and beyond, he is broke, as is witnessed by his continued grifting even as President elect. I also rather suspect that he is not really interested in the nitty gritty of governing, preferring the "big ticket" stuff which puts him in the limelight. Elon has almost unlimited, no, (effectively unlimited) supplies of money. Trump needs, is impressed by and covets money. Elon is impressed by his own presence as he roams the corridors of power. Elon isn't going anywhere. -

AN Member Post Count Obsession
It could be interpreted that you have a lot of opinions on a lot of different things. Which isn't a bad thing. And ... the internet is real life. A forum is as real as anything else.
