Captain Flack Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 A number of off topic posts have been removed for spelling police comments and some bickering. Can you please discuss the topic.
renaissanc Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 "The Medical Association of Surat would like to welcome all the heavy drinkers on the flight to our medical facilities to treat your livers and kidneys." 😁 Ignorance about the effects of alcohol consumption on the body is bliss, I suppose.

Aleksey75 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Quality tourists are on their way! Welcome those, Thailand!

Don't most flights carry WAY more than Bt70000 worth of alcohol? China Airlines of Taiwan used to. USD2000 is almost nothing. China Air used to provide premium brands, and all you could drink. 1
Briggsy Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 They whine, they cajole, they try to get as stupid drunk as possible, they negotiate, they become a real pain in the arse, they ignore anything they don't want to hear but over all they continue to ask 700 more times after being told "No." Easier to just bring a limited amount on board and run out quickly.
Hanuman2547 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 When I read the headline, I initially thought it was a group of Hash House Harriers on the flight. It appears that is not the case.

I have seen personally the behaviour of Westerners when on holiday in Europe on board planes, so please spare us your condescending remarks of "South Asian" men and alcohol. 1 2
Deserted Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Probably what happened was they forgot to go and ask the pilots for some. They've usually got a good few bottles of whiskey in the cockpit.
lamyai3 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 It would have been fine but for the guy who kept ringing the bell to buy all the stewardesses a drink...
DonniePeverley Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Ex PM Sretta panic decision to open up the borders to Indian tourists will be looked back on as one of the worst decisions in Thai history.

I think that if they had charged in-flight alcohol prices, there'd be plenty of instances of 3 men sharing 1 gin, and asking for a discount because they brought their own cup. 1

You would THINK that would be included in the article which didn't make clear even where Surat was right away in the title AND the interesting fact it's a dry state. Now it makes sense and is kind of funny. If you’ve been reading here much you know this isn’t exactly great literature. But that’s where the comedy comes in when they try to embellish with 1940s style phrases. Happy holidays
DTL2014 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Great to know that we can rely on Air India to get these direct flights running - makes you wonder why Thai Airways didnt do it? Could it be they are mis managed? Look forward to more stories about the crossing - it could be a regular feature
Sighto Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Only 70,000 baht ?! How many passengers: 400 ? This is 175 baht (5$) per person, or less than a lady drink. Not much of " Premium alcoholic beverages " there ! On 12/23/2024 at 9:21 AM, webfact said: the onboard stock of premium alcoholic beverages, reportedly worth ฿70,000. 1
bristolgeoff Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 If the indian city is a dry one they made sure they made up for it on the flight
