Trolling your own thread. 😊 Living up to your reputation I see. 😊

Run out of things to write about Chrome OS Flex?

Not difficult when you didn't know anything in the first place. You had an opportunity to report your real experience, but instead reverted back to your usual childish behaviour. I'll leave you to it then. 😊

That's great, J. J.   ..........:clap2:

Good luck with your non-Chrombook computer...🤭

Thanks @transam. I have an old tablet with Windows 10 on it. I'll see if I can install chrome os flex on it.

Sounds like an interesting project.

Someone posted some downsides, but they might not all be relevant now nor to you.

What's a Chrombook computer? 😊

You do know that Chrome OS Flex differs from the Chrome OS a normal Chromebook, don't you? No Android support is an obvious difference.

Then....

https://support.google.com/chromeosflex/answer/11542901

Only certified models are supported

Keyboard differences

Ports and features not tested or supported on ChromeOS Flex

Each Chromebook, Chromebase, and Chromebox has an Automatic Updates until date. On and after this date, devices no longer receive software updates from Google.

Google does not support installing ChromeOS Flex on a ChromeOS device that can no longer receive automatic updates.

While you might be able to install ChromeOS Flex on Intel or AMD x86 ChromeOS devices, we don’t support devices that can’t automatically receive updates. You might have issues with firmware and hardware compatibility, installation, and updates.

Yet there you are, diligently replying to my every post. Only with you, 'the lights are on, but no one's at home'

Ready to get back to the topic or has it already gone past your limit of your knowledge? If so, you should bow out instead of continually posting nonsense.

Get back to the topic, you don't even know what it's about...................🤣

You think it's about putting Chomebook on an old LT to run a business..............🤣

When if fact it's about saving a scrap LT from the bin as a back-up..........🤣

Now Bruno, go and fool around with the train set you probably got for Christmas............🤪

But you aren't really saving anything, unless it's useful. You don't seem to be able to answer any questions on that. I haven't made any reference to business usage. The lack of Android compatibility is not linked to business, neither is the lack of security that you touted as a plus, but doesn't actually exist.

Behaving childishly instead of tackling the facts on the ground sums you up perfectly. Always childish arguments and use of emoticons, as opposed to intelligent debate.

Interesting - I have an ancient (but high-spec and still working) laptop that can't be upgraded to Windows 11.

Is this procedure reversible - dones't seem to a lot of product info when I google it.

I've just bumped a thread about this.

Interesting.  Maybe Microsoft's push to help out chip and hardware manufacturers might backfire and send many to their opposition, being Google.

If Microsoft will not let you run the latest OS on older hardware, but Google will, then people might decide to jump off the Windows platform.

Perhaps you should peruse the thread before getting over-excited. The old devices won't be supported by Chrome OS Flex either. Only Certified devices will be supported.

No over excitement here.

Just merely commented that Microsoft's push to have people upgrade their hardware may backfire, whether it be with Google, paid third party updates, or unofficial work arounds.

I could understand with very ancient hardware, but with Core i7 processors.  Really????

There is no issue. Only in your mind. Others have installed successfully and are up and running as normal. If you are unable to do so that's a personal problem. Learn how to do so and move on up.

I know how to do it.  That's not the issue.

Would you care to comment on Microsoft's patching of these unofficial upgrades?

I am particularly interested if the patch can be retrospective, meaning, Microsoft can / will detect Windows 11 on unsupported hardware in the future and block updates.  If this is the case, I'll save my time and not upgrade.

Microsoft are the ones supplying the workarounds, which work for 24H2. No updates will be blocked.

25H2 may have further restrictions. So you are covered until October 2026 with 24H2. I hope that it's clear now.

You aren't accepting info off me. Remember? You only wrote that a couple of minutes ago. Short memory? Find the link yourself.

For someone who doesn't need to be spoon-fed, you surely are asking a lot of questions.

Still Trolling your own thread? 😊

I guarantee people respect my advice over yours. You don't have a clue other about anything, other than to install the same old third party applications to 'solve' every problem. 😊

And when you answer him he implies you are lying and adds more questions/misleading responses.

I will no longer respond to him!
