There is only one oil available in Thailand that is very healthy for cooking and that is rice bran oil. It is the top oil in Thailand for the money has a very high flashpoint, has a great flavor and it's super healthy and super high in polyunsaturated fatty acids.

The seed oils have a high flash point, but there's a lot of evidence that points towards them being unhealthy for a number of reasons.

Olive oil is also another good choice but it's many times the cost of rice bran oil and coconut oil is also great choice but it really colors the taste of the food, and is also quite expensive.

Every oil got it's special flavor. It's a personal decision.

And I don't think anybody would drink these cooking oil. So the health aspect is to be neglected if you use 1 or two spoon full.

And if you think of this beloved full (British/Irish) breakfast........not healthy at all.🤢

How long for? what temperature. I tried a couple of times and it just overcooked them, to be fair i didn't experiment further

I think cooking times and temperatures vary too much due to different Air Fryers and personal tastes. You need to experiment around and see what gives you the best results for your liking.

Since I got my Air Fryer I have been keeping notes about cooking the things I like and I have to admit the first go around didn't result the best. But after some tweaking I've gotten these things down pretty good:

Grilled cheese sandwich

Salmon

Steak (Aussie tenderloin)

Smores

French Toast

Veggies

Banana Bread

For my veggies I only put some items like the potatoes and carrots in the AF first and cook some before adding the other veggies. I will cook at a low temp (160C) and then after 10 minutes I will rotate and cook more before adding the other veggies and increasing the temperature. NOTE: I like my broccoli and cauliflower a little crispy so I'll usually crank the temperature to 200C before stopping.

Just wondering which type of oil to use for frying vegetables. Is soybean oil ok? Thanks for all your replies!

I use coconut oil, healthy and fat as ghee. Don't need much oil for frying vegetables. You can steam them instead, or just put them in boiling water till the water boild again, if you like them crispy.

Yeah if you're using one spoon of oil it's unlikely that it makes that much difference, but if you're eating street food it makes a huge difference as they use massive amounts of oil, and if it's being cooked by a Thai, t's almost guaranteed that a lot of oil is being used, so the quality of oil is always relevant.

Well, and often Thai street food vendors used the oil for a couple of days even. So you'll get with your food a free portion of Acrylamide. Enjoy🤗
