The Day the Music Died
Today is the anniversary of the deaths of Buddy Holly and his companions in that plane crash. He left us with so many memorable songs. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the greatest girl singer ever, the incomparable Karen Carpenter, who Paul McC said was the best. My favourites of hers were Rainy Days and Mondays, Only Yesterday, and the very inappropriate titled Touch Me When We're Dancing. On 6th in 1996, another angelic voice left us, Mr Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys. Compare God Only Knows https://youtu.be/yAAKG-hKdhM to Wild Honey and you will realise what a great singer he was. -
