Canadian Found Dead in Parked Car Sparks Phuket Mystery
Photo courtesy of Bangkok Post Police have launched an investigation after a Canadian man was discovered dead in a car near Nui Beach in Karon. The body was found inside a Mitsubishi Xpander with Phuket registration around 9:15 a.m. yesterday, February 10, sparking questions about the circumstances of his death. Forensic experts from the Phuket Provincial Forensic Science Office, along with doctors from Vachira Phuket Hospital, thoroughly examined the scene. However, the cause of death remains unknown. Authorities are working with the Canadian Embassy to notify the man's family, while investigations are ongoing. Although foul play hasn't been ruled out, police are considering all possibilities, such as medical issues or other factors. The car’s isolated location and lack of immediate signs of struggle have raised further questions. The case is open, and officials urge anyone with information to come forward. This incident adds to a series of foreigner-related events in Phuket, highlighting tourist safety concerns in the area, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-02-11
