A drunken tourist attacked three Thai app-based motorcycle taxi riders in Phuket, allegedly because he wanted a lift to a massage parlour. However, the riders declined to serve him, citing that they were fully booked.

A early morning fire broke out on January 6, at a metal coating factory within the Bang Pu Industrial Estate, Samut Prakan, causing a dramatic scene as firefighters raced to prevent the flames from spreading to neighbouring factories. The blaze, which started in Soi 5C, was brought under control after over 2 hours of efforts.

Bodies of Two Myanmar Workers Found in Canal in Surat Thani

Police officers from Chaiya Police Station, Surat Thani province, responded on January 6, to a report of two bodies discovered in a canal near Ban Tha Hak Bridge on Pa We Road, Moo 3, Pa We sub-district, Chaiya district. A blue-grey Honda Wave 110i motorcycle was also found next to the irrigation canal, under a bridge.

In the late hours of January 6, at approximately 22:35 Pattaya’s Tourist Police and Immigration officials conducted a successful raid on an illegal gambling operation involving foreign nationals. The operation took place at a private room in Jomtien, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, located just two streets away from the local Immigration Office.

Samut Songkhram teenagers arrested for firing Uzi in new year celebration

The Centre for Air Pollution Mitigation issued a warning about increasing PM2.5 pollution levels in Bangkok and its vicinity from January 6 to 10. This rise is due to cold air masses from northeastern Thailand, causing stagnant air that traps pollutants.

Monkey business: 100 macaques to be neutered in south Bangkok

Bang Khun Thian district chief Passara Natheethong announced that up to 100 macaques in the south Bangkok district will be neutered this month as part of an ongoing initiative to control their population in the district. Last year, 122 macaques underwent the procedure.

Bangkok cleans up act: Street vendors get the boot in Pathumwan

In a bid to spruce up the bustling streets of Bangkok and make them safer for pedestrians, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has given street vendors the boot from two major hotspots in the Pathumwan district. Ploenchit Road in Ton Son and the bustling area outside the Siam Scape building are the targets.
