Anyone use these nasal cleaner type bottles?

Any good? do you use non iodized salt or just table salt?

 

I'm just half way through a cold so thinking of trying one

I've used them before because I often get rhinitis (spelling?) and a severely-blocked nose.  It works well, also gargling with salt water.  With this nasal inhaler, you need to tip your head back and allow gravity to do its thing. Certainly worth a try at 49 baht!

 

I just use table salt...

I've been using diluted hydrogen peroxide for gargling and so far no mandatory sore throat

Yes!  It is excellent.  A perfectly designed product.  I use it a few times a week.  You can mix your own saline solution but I just buy large bottles of Klean and Kare 9% normal saline to keep it simple.

I order the 500 ml bottles with the normal cap, not the spray cap, from Lazada but Watson's and other pharmacies also sell them although not all carry the large bottle.

These work well for me when I have a cold or runny nose. Otherwise I don't need them.

I swear ny Nasol. It unblocks the nose so quickly. Years ago I tried numerous sprays but Nasol was the clear (sic) winner. 

 

Nowadays they have those wretched actuators but I kept some of the old squirty bottles.

Alternatively, you could just buy a 500ml bottle of saline for about 45bt.

The best solution in my opinion is to use the saline solutions available everywhere mixed with a bit of salt from the salt packets to make the liquid stronger. You can use it in the nasal cleaner or rinse bottle.

It is not a must. For me personally I find it more effective as I do have severe chronic

breathing problems especially during nighttime due to an allergy.

What is the difference between salt from a pharmacy and salt from a supermarket?  NaCl will be NaCl regardless of the vendor.

I suspect buying salt from a pharmacy will be drastically more expensive and no different in chemical structure.

As long as it's non iodized then it should be the same

Never saw one of those before.  My first thought was "how to use this to get high?"

If you are mixing the saline solution yourself you have to use boiled or distilled water to avoid any infections.  

 

The saline solution salt sold at pharmacies and online comes premeasured for convenience.  You add the specified amount of boiled or distilled water.  The packets are cheap. 

 

Easiest thing is to buy bottles of normal saline solution (9%) but mixing it yourself is fine.

Yep. That's what I use occasionally. Actually a smaller bottle. Cut the tip wide enough for the nose.

 

I try to use de-congesting nasal spray as rarely as possible,

Have sinusitis since ages.

First of all it is easier to dose as 1 package is exactly weighted to be used for nasal purpose. And the packaging says that the salt is pharmaceutical grade, there might be a difference between table salt and the one to be used as nasal solution.

I used one of my old cycling water bottles and gently squeezed the bottle to flow the water into my nose.  I mixed sea salt with hot water out of the tap or add boiling water.  Looking back at it, I should probably just use the saline solutions sold at the pharmacy. Probably much safer.

Online it is sold for 25 USD from Hammer Nutrition which seems expensive?

I used the bottle in the op with the klean and kare saline solution and worked easy enough, my cold crashed and burned after 5 days so didn't really need it, anyway I'm set for next time, also bought some salt sachets

Be careful with hydrogen peroxide.  I would use it sparingly since it tends to destroy beneficial bacteria.

I use the 1000 ml Klean&Kare bottles regularly for prevention, no need for fancy separate sprays, just use it directly.

Yes it's diluted, lot's of youtube videos about it, some people seem to use it daily, I'll just use it to stop a sore throat which it did in this case

Haven't tried them. I just buy a bottle of Saline solution at Fascino. Along with the appropriate size plastic syringe. Both are very inexpensive. Works perfectly.  When the saline runs out. Can buy premixed packets on Lazada. Mix with bottled water. Perfect.

Here in Thailand it can be found in most pharmacies at 95b a bottle.
