M6 Motorway Nakhon Ratachasima

I was driving back from Khon Kaen to Bangkok and was on the M6 motorway at sunset. There is one bit where there is some sort of a structure built over the road. The road at this point is on an incline and at that point the setting sun was directly in line with the exit from what ever the structure is. Quite impressive to have this giant orange ball blocking the exit. The photo doesn't do it justice. But what is the tunnel structure for?

If only they would finish it before I make an exit.

Lot of concrete is probably there for 10 years(?) now.

I know...staggering amount. Looking forward to it running all the way through.

 

It'll make the BKK drive so 'easy'.
