Or it's a freak out. He had cocaine, alcohol and weed in his system, add the heat to that and you have a pretty explosive cocktail.

I would like to no more about who chased him and why the fighting started.

It's interesting how different media outlets disseminate various pieces of information. In this one, for example:

She said: "The detective said he has worked tirelessly but I just don't know if they want to make it out like it was a tragic accident. Something is really not sitting right with me."

https://www.gbnews.com/news/british-tourist-naked-body-found-sea-thailand-heated-row-muscly-man

I assume they are "working tirelessly" to identify the second guy, and given they have CCTV footage (and probably eyewitness accounts if they were drinking at the bar), it's safe to assume there is a good chance they will find him, they usually do in such cases.

I have checked the fundraising page and they have already raised 23k (the goal was 15k), however it seems unlikely the authorities will release the body if the investigation is ongoing.

Did you read the story, 'being followed' doesn't mean 'chased'

If assaulted, then their would be indications of that on his body.   It's the naked part that implies ... a skinny dip oops.

If insured, as responsible people do, would that not pay for transport back home ?  Along with a 3 month holiday, implies, he and or family, can afford the 15k they asking others to pay for.

Instead of sis & dad flying over and staying here, as that might have paid for the 15k alone.  It is high season, and not cheap this time of year.   Nobody needs to be here, he's dead.

"If insured, as responsible people do, would that not pay for transport back home ? " Would it? Only if the insured opts for it. You assume all should or would, or perhaps that it would be automatically baked in. That sounds to me like you have never read the small print of the insurance you buy when on vacation. Obviously you do buy insurance - you are a responsible person right? Or are you making me assume now?

"Nobody needs to be here, he's dead." Nice. Some people need closure. Some people want to see the location, talk to people who saw their loved ones last. You have, perhaps, an empathy deficit...

Not assuming anything .. but the 'mature & responsible' theme of news blip, then if so, should be insured, and opt in, for return of remains.   Just saying.

Closure ?  Really, and who the hell would they talk to, that saw him last ?

I never bought insurance when I travel, though think my AE and or Visa had that built in.  If I crapped out on holiday, they knew not to even claim my body, if they even knew I was dead.

Give me to a Uni, to study my enormous brain 😎

I'm dead, what the hell do I care.  Even the wife has instructions to bury my butt at the house & tell nobody.   If die in public area, do whatever is cheapest.   One of the silliest waste of money I can think of, is people and funerals.  Right behind weddings.

Spend money for a parade of people, to look at you, dead, of all times to 'visit', that probably haven't talked to you in years.   Cremate, and if anyone wants closure, pop over to where ever the dust spreading is.

Who wants to look at a dead body.  Remember my smile, my laugh, the time I made you laugh & my zest for life.

A buddy of mine was watching one of my YTs, and I was laughing.   He commented and stated, 'he misses my laugh' ... that meant more to me than any viewing/funeral, or the thought of him having to look at me 'dead'....out of respect.   No thanks, not how I want to be remembered.

A frequent mistake. They don't pay for much, if at all.

Never needed insurance.  I'm an anti insurance kind of guy.  Only buy what is mandatory by law to have, and only if I couldn't get out of it.

Auto ins in TH is the only exception, and the only insurance I've ever paid for.

I understand where you're coming from, but IMO anybody can "need insurance" at any time and it doesn't matter how much you have managed to save, a couple of months in the hospital can potentially wipe out your life savings.

Depending on the type of, probably, light clothing that he was wearing at the time, sea movements can easily remove clothing from a floating body particularly the type shown in the first photo of him in the OP.

At least the family wants the body examined by the British coruner, the man was last seen sprinting towards the beach with the same man he had had a argument with at the back packers 15 seconds behind him.

Lots of people are making fun of this which is very insulting to the family.

The Police should have caught and interviewed the chaser, and taken DNA samples, something foul happened here, and I suspect it was murder, and that's not a joke.

Wow , just wow. That’s just how you would treat a close relative!  Don’t speak for other people.

I'm sure his family would love him to be their family advisor.

Good on the family, a coroners report fully done in Britain will ensure things a lot more.

Bruise marks would be obvious or evidence of another type of assault .

The man chasing the victim should have been arrested straight away and had DNA samples taken , if their are any left.

This whole thing stinks and the police seem to be laying down doing nothing, maybe they know the chaser.

was DNA taken from the victim, their could have possibly been some under his fingernails, if not washed away ??

A fundraising campaign has been launched to cover the costs of repatriating Regan’s body...

------------------------------------

Out of my curiosity, I checked out the cost of dead man's extradition from Thailand to UK with google.

And found something unexpected.

To my surprise, there is an airline specialized in the travel of the deceased.

Literary a Flight of the Dead...

That is saying all.

Being drunk and have a heated conversation with another (Thai) man. Stupid

People in the tropical regions, often lose self-control when they got(strongly) upset.

That is why there are so many deadly/near-killed incidents start with altercation here.

And alcohol often fuels it.
