Sounds like a pitch for gym memberships. I am in my eighties my mental health is just fine. I have never willingly entered a gym or done any exercise in my life, last time was in school over sixty five years ago. Not afraid of physical work so long as it produces something.

You don't need a gym, just walking is fine...👍

Science states that dance – i.e., music and memorized movement co-ordinated with the music – is on of the best thing for elder folks to keep both body and mind in good condition.

 

However, any activity you enjoy is great – my experience comes from my father that played tennis for 92 years until he was 104 years old – I'm still wat too young to count on, only time will show if my way of exercise works...😀

Don't need a gym, just some simple resistance bands or 2 dumbells will help but just your bodyweight will suffice. What's important is "use it or lose it". That applies to muscle mass, mobility, balance and more as we age.

My doctor told me I need to exercise more.

I told him I already walk 3km every morning before breakfast almost every day (as long as it's not pouring down rain @ 06:30).

I asked him how many Thai people do that.

Answer: silence 😭

Daily exercise boosts own confidence in health and strength.

 

I usually workout lightly 30-60 minutes before breakfast.

Daily in-room walk(on a flat cushion; no machines involved) for 30 minutes.

And a couple of simple Body Weight Exercises(including push ups & sit ups).

Ends with the stretching.

 

Exercise really matters when people get old(er).

After my mid 40s, I greatly reduced my exercise workload.

But I am still keen to move my body each day.

Resultingly, I always wake up refreshed in the morning.

 

Apart from the above menu, daily self-chiro, has also been part of  my life(since my teens).

Done when I wake up, feel any strain in my body.

As well as after computing for a few hours.

And on the bed just before I fall asleep each night.
