Phuket Airport tourist cries fowl over 3,000 baht Subway sarnies
That's the thing with subway you look at the board and say I want that and it has a price. Then they ask you what you want in it? That doesn't actually make sense. Good on her for standing up for herself. 6 offcials who can't speak English enforcing payment of a sandwich? All the constant media rubbish of "smart zones" and flower opportunities, and you have no tourist police in the airport?? Airport vendors need some scrutiny every now and then. Everyone in there is taking the piss. Bottled water in phuket international is minimum 100-120 baht. In domestic it is normally 30. The pharmacy there is selling simple little things like a sachet of gaviscon only stuck together in packs of 10 for over 200 baht. "I just need one". "No mister cannot". -

Steps to Replace a Lost 5-Year Thai Driving License
I lost in 2024 my valet which had the thai motorcycle license, and also my Thai pink ID card for foreigners. When i went to the DLT office in Bangkok for renewal driver licence. The first message i got, was to go get a pink ID card, no way around this one ( i tried), which i found very strange as not everyone has this card. I had it, (but they didnt know i had one) but amazingly i lost it in the same valet. So, i had to go to Police station to report lost driver license, lost pink ID card for foreigner. Then the trip went to Amphur office (government office i got the ID card), to create a new pink ID card, which went smoothly (had to show police report). Then with new id card in hand, went back to DLT office with the new pink id card, and the police report, and got a new driver license. Im still a vbit confused as why i had to have a thai id card to get a thai driver license. That was no issue back in time when i first got the license. This is in Bangkok Sukhumvit. Tell the experience in case the information is of any help to anyone,. Have a good day -

Man Kills Wife in Fatal Shooting After Domestic Dispute in Phatthalung
Picture from responders. At approximately 14:30 on 10 January, authorities were called to a home in Ban Na Pakor, Bang Kaeo district, Phatthalung province, following reports of a fatal shooting. Police, forensic officers, and rescue teams arrived at the residence, where they discovered the body of 43-year-old Ms. Dao Phasuk Nawi. Ms. Nawi had been shot with a revolver, the bullet striking her abdomen and exiting through her back, while another shot hit her right arm and exited through the left side of her chest. She was found lying on a mattress in the living room of her home. A bullet shell was recovered from the scene and kept as evidence. The suspected shooter, 36-year-old Mr. Yusob Bin La, fled the scene on his white Honda Wave motorcycle after the incident. Initial investigations revealed a history of domestic disputes between the couple. Mr. Yusob was known to have a drug addiction, and authorities indicated that when under the influence of drugs, he often became irritable and violent towards his wife. The couple had frequently argued, and the latest conflict occurred shortly after Mr. Yusob returned home the previous day. It is believed that after another heated argument, Mr. Yusob shot his wife, resulting in her death, before fleeing the scene. Authorities are currently searching for Mr. Yusob, and a manhunt is underway. -- 2025-01-11 -
