The self delusions can be startling. If a foreign male does not already occupy a high position in the social hierarchy, then he has almost no chance of ever having a stable relationship with a woman who is considered to be hi so. The exceptions are for very good looking  Japanese or South Koreans.  Thailand has a pecking order and while some westerners  don't see it, there is a very strong social hierarchy.

Are you implying those in or around such areas or profession are idiots ?

I wouldn't call anyone independent and or self employed an idiot.

I didn't say that, read again.

People in those professions have a greater chance of being gold diggers.

Who cares about "High Society" anyway? Ludicrous. Just adds more stress to any relationship. I don't want to be paraded around to be seen nor to have a partner who needs or feels the need to do that. I escaped from "HiSo" and love my freedom. More important is to find someone you like and who likes you....unless you need to marry into money.

And you would know this ... by the endless stories of irresponsible gift giving by men to women, and then calling them good diggers.

Surely you wouldn't hang around such  lowly lot, to gain any actually true stories.  Just internet drivel, repeated over & over.

There's gold diggers everywhere, every profession, every 'class' of people.

A fools & their money, surely doesn't represent the masses.  Not in my world anyway

Not by the successful relationships of the same folks, that doesn't get a lot of air play.  Most I know of or think of couples that may have met originally in a business arrangement (not that I'd ever ask) are quite happy together.  Sharing their life still with no gold digging going on.
