What an absolute load of rubbish, the average Chinese likely to visit Thailand as a tourist wouldn't have a clue about this so-called actor and supposed scam - - it's just more nonsense from TAT trying to cover their ar&e for the falling number of Chinese tourists.

Chinese tourists do have a clue and are very sensitive to 'safety' issues abroad.

As long as Thailand keep wanting the "whole" world to come an stay, no wonder there will be occasions like this and worse. It seems like its "Open Borders" now-a-days!😆🙄

I have a novel idea, instead of engaging in PR and spending all kinds of money trying to convince the Chinese and other people of Thailand's safety, and lack of risk, why don't they actually engage the government in reform so that they can make this place safer?

They could start with public safety and traffic safety and then move on to reform of the spectacularly ineffective police department.

I think you are incorrect. My friend in China says it is all over Chinese media and social apps and there are many cancelling their travel plans to Thailand. This guy is not the only one in less than a week to be coerced or kidnapped to go out of Thailand. 2 others just 2 days ago as well.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is swiftly taking action to restore Thailand's image among Chinese tourists following the harrowing experience of Chinese actor Xingxing.

Hope the numbers keep falling. They're like a plague of locusts, my building is full of them. Very rude and unfriendly.

You've got to wonder how valuable the majority of chineese tourists are to the economy because most are either zero dollar tours or money is concentrated in very few businesses as they are moved like sheep from 1 location to next " attraction "
