A speeding car driver rushing to work lost control on a bend and collided with a pickup truck before plunging into an irrigation canal in Phrae province, leaving both drivers injured.

The incident occurred around 10:00 on January 15 near the irrigation canal road between Ban Tae and Ban Kat in Na Chak subdistrict, Mueang Phrae district. Police Lieutenant Narong Sonklin of Mueang Phrae Police Station received a report of the crash and coordinated with local patrol officers and rescue teams from Phrae Hospital.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found debris scattered across the road at a sharp bend near the canal. A Toyota pickup truck, registered in Phrae, was parked by the roadside with damage to its front-right and side. The driver, Mr. Jak, 46, a local resident of Mueang Phrae, sustained minor injuries. He explained that he was slowly driving from his workplace to a job site in Sung Men district when the speeding car driver lost control on the curve and crashed into him.

The other vehicle, a Nissan car registered in Bangkok had plunged into the irrigation canal, with water submerging half of the car. The driver, identified as Mr. Phakdanai, 30, from Don Tan village in Sung Men district, managed to climb out of the canal with injuries to his arms and body. He admitted to speeding on his way to work in Suan Khuean subdistrict. Emergency responders transported him to Phrae Hospital for treatment.

A witness reported seeing the Nissan car overtaking vehicles at high speed moments before the crash.

Investigating officers documented the scene and arranged for both vehicles to be towed to Mueang Phrae Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
