What part of "No" don't you understand?

Any member ever heard of stand by work payment?

I've never heard of it.

To the poster, the Thai labor law is quite specific. Employers cannot make new 'regulations' as they see fit.

Seen this before. Small newspaper owner in Pattaya (published in English) employed several foreigners as reporters / journalists (no experience needed), telling them that they didn't need a work permit because his business held an approval from the Labor department for 10 foreigners. (A couple of the the reporters / journalists) said they asked to see the 'approval letter' held by the newspaper owner but he refused saying it was a secret documents not available to employees). The business owner claimed he could add / remove foreigners names from the list of 10 as he saw fit.

All fell apart, owner went to jail, guilty of several charges, then deported and black listed.

All of the so called reporters / journalists the same, instantly taken to the immigration detention centre (IDC), fined on several charges and deported and black listed.

From the IDC the so called reporters / journalists employed a lawyer who quickly discovered the newspaper owner had a very scaly past history, including jail, in India, in Cambodia and in Thailand.

Woow I don't know where this is going, I'm telling you that I stopped to work a month ago but I didn't cancel my work permit, I had doubt already but I thought it could be ok, my boss just send me money for me to be able to eat and pay my rent and employ me again once it's cleared. So here the mistake is to don't have immediately cancel the work permit, means I'm late, have probably to pay fine, seems to be 20 000 bahts. Now I'm going to bring the letter from my ex employer and hopefully future employer once I get the proper visa, I have to come back there, it's 300 km from where I am now and process everything. I will do it tomorrow.

I have been employed for many years with proper visa and proper work permit. I'm late for cancelling my work permit, I will have to pay fine maybe a bit early to be speaking about jail.

what I thought was that I could stop to work time to get the proper visa and then come back to work without changing the work permit as it was still valid. The other day I saw that they were mentioning business and urgent work so I had hope I could go back to work but as everyone explained it's not permitted and now I discovered that I should have also cancelled my work permit immediately.
