Thailand tackles high airfares for Songkran festival

The Transport Ministry has directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) to tackle the high cost of airfares during long weekends and holiday periods, in preparation for the Songkran festival in April.

 Thai driver released on 600,000 baht bail after killing motorcyclist

The Bangkok South Criminal Court released a Thai sedan driver on bail set at 600,000 baht this afternoon after he intentionally hit and killed a motorcyclist on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.

Russian tourist attacked in Pattaya over livestream mix-up

A Russian tourist’s harmless social media livestream took a violent turn on Pattaya Beach when a local woman, mistakenly believing she was being filmed, assaulted him in a dramatic scene outside the Pattaya City Police Station.

Two Dead, Five Injured in Pckup Crash Carrying Migrant Workers

A fatal crash involving a pickup truck carrying migrant workers left two dead and five injured in Thong Pha Phum district, Kanchanaburi, during the early morning of January 22nd. The driver, who fled the scene, was later apprehended at a hospital after providing suspicious statements.

Two-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Shrimp Pond in Nakhon Si Thammarat

At midday on 22 January, police from Pak Phanang Police Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province received a distressing report of a child drowning in a shrimp pond in Moo 6, Pak Praek Subdistrict, Pak Phanang District. Officers, along with rescue personnel from the Pracharuamjai Foundation, rushed to the scene.

Pattaya Beach Vendor Assaulted in Drunken Row Over Alleged Mat Theft

In the early hours of 22 January at 02:05, Pol. Sub-Lt. Phupha Hongyakul, Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of an assault at Pattaya Beach, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. Officers were dispatched to the scene immediately.

Two Killed as Mercedes Collides with Motorcycle in Bangkok

A 29-year-old woman driving a Mercedes-Benz collided with a motorcycle in Soi Sena Nikhom 1, Chatuchak, Bangkok, early on January 22nd, resulting in the deaths of two women. The impact threw the victims onto the road, while the motorcycle was dragged for 80 metres before the car came to a stop.

Thief Steals Nearly 70,000 Baht from Turkish Tourist in Pattaya

At approximately 05:05 on 22 January, Mr. Mustafa, a 52-year-old Turkish national, reported a theft to police at the Pattaya City Police Station. The victim claimed that his wallet, containing 500 Euros and 1,500 US Dollars, worth approximately 70000 Thai Baht, was stolen while he was standing in front of a hotel on Central Pattaya Road.

Foreign National Arrested in Chiang Mai for Selling Psilocybin Mushrooms to Tourists

A 59-year-old foreign man, nationality not disclosed, was arrested in Chiang Mai for selling illicit drugs, specifically psilocybin mushrooms (commonly known as “magic mushrooms”), mixed with honey to foreign tourists. The man, who reportedly has a Thai wife, was apprehended at an unnamed shop located on Ratchawithi Road, in the Sriphum district of Chiang Mai.
