Holiday in the Phil's, where?

I plan to go on hoiday to the Phil's in the second half of the year.
1 month, but it can be extended if necessary.
I have been a few times in the Phil's before, but that was in the early 2000.

My plan is to have an easy vacation, near the beach.
Bars and bargirls are not on my list, so no places like Angeles.
I would like to meet some Philippine woman, preferable over 40 years old and single.
 

As said already, Los Angeles is not on my list (unless the place has changed a lot in the recent years).
Manilla and surroundings are too hectic for me, so I would give them a miss.
Any ideas?

That's good. No such a city in PH. It's in California.

 

But seriously, try Cebu or any place at least 300km of Manila and it should be fine.

I visited Dumaguete last year and really enjoyed it - it felt like a place I could retire to if circumstances were different.

Boracay Island ( @ White beach)   I'm told is one of the best locations to holiday within the Philippines,   I will  try it  this year

Are there direct flights to anywhere in the Phil's or are all the flight to Manilla with an onward ticket to the other islands?

Manila is very bad, very nasty...

 

Do yourself a favor and fly to Angeles City. Code:  CRK. Much nicer airport. Shuttle buses to Manila, if needed.

My vote is for Davao City from what I've read, safe, 6k baht round trip from Bangkok 4.5 hour flight non stop

Overcrowded and packed with hordes of filipinos.  My personal least favorite place in Phils except for manila.

It's better to fly to Cebu.  There are direct flights from Bangkok and many other destinations.  Cebu is a nice airport with connections to most tourist destinations in Phils.

 

Manlia is one of the worst airports in the world.  Avoid it unless you are going to angels, subic, or Puerta galera which can all be reached by taxi from there.  Whatever you do avoid domestic flights from Manila terminal 4--I still literally have nightmares about that place.

I went to Palawan last year, El Nido.  Nice place, if a little touristy, but I'd happily recommend it.  I flew to there from Cebu, a much better option than going through the crazily badly organised Manila Airport.  It depends where you are coming from for your international flight, I am able to fly direct to Cebu from where I am.  I agree on the comments about Clark too, that's a decent airport too.

 

I've also been to Kalibo (down the road from Boracay).  Quiet but friendly.  I was the only foreigner there, but I felt welcome.

 

I found a web site that has some good info on it; a lot of it is on the girls side of Philippines, but it has some very good info on suggested places.  There's a link on the page for finding girlfriends; it recommends an app called Pina Love, but has other suggestions too.  https://www.philippinesredcat.com

Been to Boracay a number of times over the years. Always have had a good time, but last year as one poster mentioned. Very busy. But that made the nightclubs and pubs quite fun. But I think I will not go back

 

Did El Nido, Palawan last year. Some of the beaches on the outskirts are phenomenal, the day tours really fun. Great barbecue (no need to eat at expensive town restaurants) near a stage where there are nightly local happenings. Again, really fun but quite busy, but sorry to repeat myself that made the nightclubs quite hopping.

 

In about a month it's going to be Puerto Galera via Manila, after back to Palawan for a week in Port Barton. Looking forward to it.

Puerta Galera has really good scuba diving.  You are missing the highlight if you don't dive there.

 

Port Barton is very quiet.  Completely the opposite of Boracay.  Not much to do but sit on the beach or go island hopping.  It's a great place if that's what you like.
