At first glance, the requirements for extending at Immigration look very similar to the initial application process.

In a perfect world, one could simply resubmit all the documents that were used to obtain the original visa BUT.....

i) the time has moved on anything up to 5 years so the documents could be deemed 'out of date'.

ii) the scrutinising authority is Immigration rather than an embassy so a very different take on what is acceptable or not could be applied.

iii) as this is being done at Immigration, one would expect everything will have to be in paper format rather than online.

It can all theoretically be avoided by leaving the country before the 180-day permission to stay expires.

Just so everyone understands that is a mistake where it says 5000,000 baht for the financials (as in it's NOT 5 million baht) it's only 500K baht 😛

Maybe Immigration needs to add English-language proofreaders an acceptable category for DTV applicants!  🙂

Ok so you plan to obtain a DTV.

The report is regarding a friend.

"Dental" will be soft power category.

Extension process may be different.

Out of interest what proof did will you need to supply re dental work.

I already Have DTV (stamped until 3rd of March).
As someone mentioned it'll probably be easier to avoid all this mess and just spend a weekend in KL or P-P or Singapore. I have bank statement and dental appointment for 8th of March, just in case to show at the airport.

I'm thinking some folk confused how a dental appointment in March can facilitate a 5 yr visa.

Agree that an exit/reenter best plan.
