I have a Shopee Pay account for years already, to which eventual refunds are issued.

Today I received a Shopee refund, and suddenly when I open the Shopee Pay app, it say your account is banned, contact customer service.

When contacting customer service, it gets the usual press 9 for English, followed by the message we have no English speakers available, contact through the app.

Obviously, can't contact through the app, since it is banned.

Shopee then send me a form to fill in, all in Thai of course, and can not be translated because it is an image in which you can select the text.

None of the text below the select text can be selected or translated

Contacting Shopee Pay by email, is of course also useless, because they don't answer.

I emailed them on December 2 for an issue, but never got a reply.

Thanks, yes it works in the Chrome browser.

 

Here is an update. Their webform doesn't work either.

 

I now filled in the form 3 times through Google translate, and 3 times using the Thai  version.

Uploaded all required documents.

When click submit every time get this message, which translates to "fill in the form again"

 

Time to get the government involved

I even let a Thai contact that number, and it gives a menu of number to press for which department you want to contact, but whatever number you press, it doesn't register and just continues with the menu. At the end it says you didn't press a number, and starts again

these accounts were only possible to open for a brief window of time anyway.

Shoppe is making things difficult though. After years of being a customer I was asked to prove my phone number of  10++ years is indeed my phone number.

 

i can't transact until i go to AIS and get some bloody documents.

I would just move on, but lazada has had a very poor selection of items lately, many things are only available on shoppee and they are often cheaper there too.

 

I only use shoppee when Lazada lets me down, shoppers delivery times are crap. you can wait a day or a month, too many folks drop shipping rather than holding physical stock.

Take note that your Shopee Pay account will be banned in the near future, so if you receive a refund that gets paid in your Shopee Pay account, and it will not be accessible.

Please also note that the webform to send them forms like your passport and phone bill, dos not work either, as you can see from the screenshot in a previous post.

So I received a link to request the balance in my Shopee Pay account to be transferred to my bank account, which will take 30 days, after they confirm they received and checked the documents.

Who knows if it ever will be confirmed.

Point is, more and more discrimination of foreigners., you almost would start to think we are not wanted here.

Same with Lazada Wallet if you want to take YOUR money out. It works eventually after loads of hoops. COD goes back into Wallet. Best to pay with Credit or Debit card where any refund is returned, both with Shopee.

I think that you are just exaggerating. I supplied them with ID once and now all I need to do is to give them a call to expedite it, as I haven't bothered to activate the Wallet, even though the funds are shown to be in there. Usually promptly back in my account.

Thank you for the link, which explains that money can only be withdrawn via the phone app, not the website. 

Cannot understand how you have done it without activating the Wallet.

Their call center also doesn't work, either in Thai or English, since I let a Thai person call them, and if they press the number for the relevant department, nothing happens and the voice message just keeps going. At the end it says, you didn't press a number, and repeats.

I have spent at least 1 hour on phone credit calling Shopee call center, and they have given me wrong information after wrong information.

They are as useful as a chocolate teapot.

At the end they gave me an email address, which I messaged, and then they sent me the email with a link to request transfer to my bank account.

I had to upload copy of passport and copy of bankbook. They say it can take 30 days to receive the money.

Since Shopee Pay is a company providing financial services, I'm sure they have to comply with rules set by the BoT, and that banning an account with funds inside, without prior notice, is against some of those rules.
