Man Arrested for Selling Meth Pills Packaged Like Snacks

A 47-year-old man, Mr. Rangsan, was detained after he devised a plan to package methamphetamine pills, known as yabaa, into small bags to sell like snacks. The arrest occurred in Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, as police caught Mr. Rangsan trading drugs with a Cambodian buyer outside a worker camp.

 

Police seized 192 meth pills and 9 bags of crystal meth, weighing 4.82 grams, from Mr. Rangsan. The Cambodian buyer possessed 6 additional meth pills. Both men tested positive for drugs at the hospital and faced charges for selling and using illegal substances.

 

 

Mr. Rangsan, who works in construction, claimed he only sold to nearby workers and not to strangers. He packaged the drugs in small plastic bags that were hung for easy picking, imitating snack displays in stores. He bought meth pills for 2,800 baht per bag and sold them at 30 baht per pill, while crystal meth was sold by the gram.

 

Police investigation revealed a monthly turnover of 400,000 to 500,000 baht in Mr. Rangsan’s bank account, with a balance of 80,000 baht. Authorities are expanding their investigation to uncover any accomplices in Mr. Rangsan’s drug network.
