No sh!t :cheesy:

We did buy 2 lots of land last year, and instant profit of about 40%, if we sold right away.   Also decided to stop bringing my pension in, via ATM, as it earns 4.99% (?), sitting in USA.  Figure if I crap out, wife can have brother transfer instantly out of my account to his (since we use same broker), then send to her.

Was a nice experiment last year, living on my pittance of a pension, and not touching my Soc Sec.   Anything better than the 1 ish % they give us here @ BBL. 🙄

On topic ... as always ... hopefully the doomsayers will be accurate, and tariffs will jack up inflation, and the lower exchange rate, if continues, will be off set by a nice COLA.

Saw a YT short yesterday, and didn't realize, prior to WW I & II, most govt spending, the whole damn budget almost, was financed by tariffs on imports.  WTF

How did it all turn the opposite so fast ?   Thieving bastards 🥵

'We did buy 2 lots of land last year, and instant profit of about 40%, if we sold right away.'  don't be naive - wifey has tucked those land titles away fur..every.  Go ahead, test my theory - try to get her okay to sell the land to a non-relative.

Watch this ?  The fraudsters are the ones covering up what RFK is trying to expose!! There's too much money in Big Pharma and they are fighting the whistleblowers , people like RFK who've got the guts to call them out!! Go ahead , after watching this and trust your vaccines. Not just kids but have you heard of young athletes, professionals suddenly getting seizures and heart attacks? check their vaccine shots --- 2 are alr too much for the body. Does it cause autism.... in the last 10 years, we are seeing 1 in 36 kids -- a total of 52 vaccines in a young child? C'mon! Before you brush off RFK because of a lack of real research into the underlying and real causes of sudden deaths of normaly healthy , normal, fit people.

Shame those 80 plus kids from Samoa aren't around to what this.

Actually, "most" voting US citizens did not vote for Trump. He only got 49.7%, so "most" of the voting US citizens voted for someone else. Harris got 48.2%, so she only lost the popular vote by 1.5%.
2024 Presidential General Election Results

a convenient 'fact' ignored by the maga cult. not that i would want to see word salad Harris as POTUS,

It is a shame. I still recall the four children in my school that died as a result of the measles vaccine.

What's in it for you?

A healthy America is good for the world.

America often sets trends that are followed elsewhere. If Trump puts an end to DEI and inane Wokery in the US, it's likely it will collapse everywhere else in time. For example, since Trump won, Reform have overtaken Labour in the UK polls. Trudeau resigned in Canada. Just 2 examples and all in a few weeks. Imagine what 4 years could do. This could be a seismic shift in world politics.

I'm already seeing a difference in as much as people seem more willing to speak their mind again, free of the censorious and authoritarian atmosphere that was present under the Biden crime family and sadly is thriving under 2 Tier Keir in the UK.

So all in all, there's quite a lot in it for me.

Yes, most of what I "know" has come from things I've read or heard about it in some way, not from my own personal experience. I'm sure it's the same for you and everyone else on these forums.

Living in the USA for 45 yrs before TH, it's actually pretty hard not to get registered to vote, as both parties do their best to get you registered if not already.

To the point of showing up at your door, to give you forms & motivate you to vote.

Since I moved around quite a bit, different states, and during a voting cycle, they seemed to pop up at the door, to make sure I'm registered to vote, since address changed on 'state ID' and not showing registered.

Since I only voted once in presidential election, my name dropped off the registry quite often, since no record of me voting in the previous election.

My experience anyway of 27 yrs of voting age, in the USA.   Now in TH, can't count how many notices I got to register to vote.   Even on AN, there was  a banner reminding Yanks to register to vote.

So, because it's only a 440% increase in autism, it's not a concern. got it.

Not a 440% increase in autism. A 440% increase in diagnoses. There's been a concerted effort to make health and education professionals More aware of autism. So naturally there's been an increase. But even if the increase were totally real, there have been massive studies done that show that there is no correlation between vaccines and autism.

So why is Kennedy still blaming vaccination for the increase, since, if the increase is real, then the cause or causes should lie elsewhere.

So, it's like obesity, just an increase in diagnosis, yes?

Is it your position that there is no increase in autism?

Is Kennedy blaming vaccines? It sounds to me like he says he doesn't know.

To be clear, I am not a fan of RFKJ, but I think he is sincere.

I'm going to say you're making that up. Four children at one school. You can prove me wrong by providing a name for that school and it's location. Something dramatic like that it's got to be a matter of public record

There is no credible information or verified reports to suggest that Arbuckle Elementary School in the U.S. had four children die from the measles vaccine.

As I said....making stuff up.

I have made my position very clear. There was no ambiguity in what I said. I'm not here to provide you a course in remedial reading.

Whether he blames vaccines for autism or is merely questioning their relation is irrelevant. The fact is that massive studies have shown no correlation. In the face of that, he should be looking elsewhere. Obviously, continuing to cast dispersions or doubts on vaccination and autism is being done either in bad faith or because he suffers from some form of mental disability.

The measles vaccine was first introduced in the United States in 1963. It was developed by Dr. John Enders and his team at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. The vaccine initially was available as a standalone measles vaccine.

Oh dear....what a tangled web we weave.......

They were bought for her to sell if she needs to, once she puts my butt in the ground.  Much better investment than any safe interest earned in USA or TH.

For me .. they were bought to avoid any new neighbors.  Will buy the rest of the land around us, IF & when it becomes available.  And same, she can do what she wants with them after I'm gone.

But with my usufructs on the chanotes, they won't be sold while I'm alive, unless I want them sold.  I'm actually in more control than she is, while I'm alive.

More money is something we don't need, while I'm alive.  Or we wouldn't have bought them.  Being 20+ years younger, more is better for her, when I'm pushing up lilies.

It was experimental. The one that WORKED was introduced in 1963.

My position is that it's irrelevant whether the increase is due to increased diagnoses or an actual increase in occurrence. What is relevant is that massive studies have shown no correlation between autism and vaccination s.

I lived in the USA for over fifty years before relocating to Thailand over twenty years ago, and I have been registered to vote in the USA since I was 18 or 61 years ago. Since my first registration, I have moved to different states and had to re-register, but doing that was not a problem. I don't think there has been a presidential election that I did not vote in. But, I was born in the USA, am a White male, always gainfully employed with a "permanent" address. Many that are not registered do not fit all those categories. Still, if they are a US citizen, they should, IMO, be allowed to register and vote.

As I said before, I am now registered to vote in California at my last address there, now one of my daughters'

address. I was easily able to request a mail-in ballot. It was sent to me by email as a .pdf. I had to print it, fill it out, sign it, and then return a photocopy of the ballot. I was notified that my ballot was received about an hour after I sent it and then notified that it was accepted the next day.

But I still believe that meeting all the registration qualifications and finding a convenient way and place to vote might be difficult for some, maybe many, in the USA, especially in "Red" states.

In any event, Trump won the election, so we'll just have to live with that for the next four years. 🥹
