This is excellent news. It is just a mirror for Thailand. If you don't make a sincere effort, you pay the price. Yak, yak, yak, but you don't do anything. Egg on the face is often the only way this creepy government makes any progress.

About 50% are doing it this way and leaving thier money in a decent interest rate paying bank account.

All rational reasons to not invest in Thailand, keep your assets out of Thailand as much as possible. Don't buy housing/property, don't invest in any businesses, keep as little a footprint as possible, have an exit plan.
