Firefighter Akkaranit Buengsai, 35, of Samut Sakhon Municipality Fire Department, has tragically passed away after suffering a high-voltage electric shock while on duty.

 

The incident occurred on the morning of 12 February 2025, when Akkaranit was responding to a fire at a commercial building along Ekachai Road. While operating from an aerial ladder platform to combat the blaze, he contacted the high-voltage power lines, sustaining critical injuries.

 

Despite efforts to save him, Akkaranit succumbed to his injuries at approximately 15:00, on 13 February at Samut Sakhon Hospital. In a final act of generosity, he had pledged to donate his organs to the Thai Red Cross Society.

 

Fire & Rescue colleagues and emergency responders across the country, have expressed their deepest condolences and paid tribute to Akkaranit’s dedication and sacrifice.

 

His passing serves as a solemn reminder of the risks firefighters face in their commitment to protecting lives and property.

Firefighting is a very difficult and dangerous job.

Well done to Firefighters everywhere.

Sad that a colleague has been lost whilst doing the job that he loved.
