Transferring flights in Dubai

When returning to Thailand via Dubai, is it OK to have OTC medications that contain codeine (e.g. Nurofen Plus) in your hold luggage?

I've been through Dubai at least 100 times with codeine and other so-called illegal meds in my hold bag and never had a problem. Far higher risk in carry-on bags. 

 

Side note to anyone reading the thread. If you are transiting but leave the airport with duty free, they will confiscate it when your go through security even if it's still bagged and tagged.
