In a chilling incident on the night of February 12, Chamnan Ponyiam, a well-known crêpe seller in Ban Suan, Mueang District, Chon Buri, was assaulted by two helmeted teenagers on a motorbike. The brutal attack left Chamnan requiring 17 stitches.

The event unfolded at around 9 PM as Chamnan was heading home. The two youths approached him, pretending interest in his crêpes. But just as Chamnan was about to engage with them, one of the attackers struck him on the head with a stick, causing a severe injury.

In their hasty escape attempt, the young assailants lost control, causing their motorbike to fall. In a panic, one shouted “Retreat!”, and they fled the scene, leaving Chamnan alone and injured.

Chamnan, visibly wounded with a bandaged head, reported the incident to the Mueang Chon Buri Police Station. He fears the attack might be linked to a recent theft when his gas cylinder was stolen from his premises, suspecting the same culprits could be involved.

Despite living peacefully in the area for years, Chamnan is now anxious about returning to his crêpe-selling business, troubled by the prospect of further attacks. He is also puzzled about the motive, contemplating whether it’s connected to his recent social media post about the theft, reported The Thaiger.
